What is Holistic Hypnosis?
Hypnosis is a method of achieving a state of focused attention and internal absorption commonly referred to as a hypnotic trance. The trance state is a naturally occurring state of mind which can be spontaneously experienced while driving, playing a sport or a musical instrument, or reading.
Holistic hypnosis is a method of applying hypnotic phenomena to reach a specified therapeutic goal through direct or indirect suggestive mechanisms. A hypnotic trance can serve as a vehicle of communication with the unconscious mind, bypassing the critical component of the conscious mind which can block us from achieving change. Contrary to popular folklore, a hypnotized person isn't asleep and can't be compelled to act against his or her own wishes.
Often times when we experience a challenge, we become stuck in a particular way of thinking, relating, behaving, or feeling that is no longer serving us. In these cases, our limiting beliefs have hijacked our potential to create change. The roots of our patterns are often held outside the window of our conscious awareness.
